Charges
Square Inch
- We charge 2.5 cents per square inch for most designs; however, very dense designs may incur and upcharge.
- Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .025 = $120
- Our minimum quilting charge is $40. This means that a small quilt or table runner’s square inch price will be rounded up to the $40 minimum.
Batting
Linear Inch
We use and stock our favorite Quilters Dream batting in natural color in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, and 100% poly. We have limited quantities of Warm and Natural White batting in stock as well, please ask for availability.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
We charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. We will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60″ x 80″ quilt, we would cut 65″ of the batting of your choice.
- 65″ of 100% cotton select loft @ $0.40/in = $26.00
- 65” of 100% cotton request loft @ $0.35/in= $22.75
- 65″ of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.35/in = $22.75
- 65″ of 100% poly select loft @ $0.28/in = $18.20
Thread
We stock both Omni and Permasoft threads. We don’t charge any extra fees for thread use, it’s included in your square inch price.
Our default approach attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to us: We are located in Pennsylvania, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. We recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of plastic bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.
Return shipping: We will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Shipping for longarming over $100 is free; otherwise most economical USPS rate will apply. Priority mail comes with a prepaid $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like us to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but we don't require it.
Other Costs
As mentioned above, batting is NOT included in the square inch price. We are required by the State of Pennsylvania to collect a 6% sales tax.
Payments
After the work is complete, we will invoice you via Wavepps. We really do appreciate timely payments as that enables us to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
